Spicy Tuna Burger - Raw Energy Mooloolaba

We made the Sunday mission up to the Sunshine coast to go for a swim after a few weeks of rain. Mooloolaba has a reasonable strip of cafes/restaurants so we thought we`d explore. There was a full fledged burger joint here, but the white rolls did`nt appeal to me on this healthy living sunday. Further on down the road we spotted Raw Energy. This reminded us of Dan and his hippie raw food dumpster diving friends. Dan`s mate Harley only ever eats raw foods. He once ate a raw Big Mac in California!! Dan has adopted a raw foods diet and told us all about it on his way in transit from Fiji to Cairns. Anyway Danny Boy this post is for you!
Raw Energy has a bright and vibrant feel but relaxed attitude. They have a large range of fresh vegetariany/healthy/raw foods and juices. In this vein I opted for a Spicy Tuna Burger. Courtney was all keen on some pear/blue cheese cacophony, after taking 10 minutes to decide they told her they had none left - so she had to get a mexibean avocado wrap of some sort. Heres a picture of Lady Bo - you can see her thinking 'god I hope I ordered the right thing???' Note the giant pineapple - they use plastic fruits on sticks instead of numbers.

It turned out they were out of a lot of stuff on this particular Sunday - rye burger buns were substituted with thick cut rye bread - Anyway without further ado here is the Raw Energy Spicy Tuna Burger . . .
Yes thats a shit load of Salad amplitude - I struggled to get a good shot of the 'pattie' (what pattie?) The next photo shows the healthy dose of mayo and a tad of bbq sauce - along with alfalfa sprouts of all things - Healthy eating marks high - for a burger its a big ba-bow - but again what would one really expect.

To be honest I actually struggled to taste any tuna whatsoever in this 'burger'. When I bit into what I thought was a pattie chunk ended up being a piece of potato. This is a burger at avery long stretch - I`d estimate no more than a quarter of a baby tin of tuna on this bad ass salad sandwich.
So check it - half way thru - i`ve removed half a lettuce of greens and theres no pattie to be seen except a few tiny nugs on the plate, and as i mentioned before this seemed to be predominantly potato. Make no mistake - this was a healthy ass lunch - but on the Burger scale I can only give it a 3. And thats for the rye bread, healthiness and view (overlooking mooloolaba beach). But even though Raw Energy won`t satisfy burger-lust I do recommend stopping in to sample some of their healthy raw food wares ( although they were`nt as hardcore raw as I expected ). Courtneys mexibean avocado wrap was superb!
