Welcome to Brisbane Burger Safari

Hi and welcome to Brisbane Burger Safari,

the blog dedicated to unearthing the finest burgers in the Brisbane/Southern Queensland Area.

This blog was inspired by the fine folk at http://www.supersizedmeals.com

Me and my team plan to go on missions at least once a week to gather photos and reviews on burgers,
post photos of any tasty food we create or eat, and generally detail food/drink related excess.

Enjoy,

Benno

Hi Guys,
I am a bit of a burger lover myself and have read some of your reviews however I found that they are a lot of inconsistencies in what you say and how you rate. Some establishments you rate highly and have the same elements that you have critised in other establishments. I promise I will sit down and go though it to give you clear examples. I also think that you have to rate things according to price & value for money. I mean you can't really put a takeaway burger in the same category as a burger restaurant and expect that you will get the same result. You also have to expect that if you pay $21 for a burger the presentation & quality of bun etc is going to be different to an >$10 takeaway. I don't know about you but I don't want to have to pay more for all the fancy branding and finicky display to get the same taste. I mean lets not be so superficial if the taste is awesome I don't care if the lettuce is fancy or plain. Myself like so many others now days is on a tight budget. Essentially all burgers within that middle class group come with your standard lettuce, tomato, onions and pineapple and beetroot if you fancy. So in short I think you should categorise this a little better maybe into a price bracket or takeaways & restaurants. Also I think there are some establishments that you gave a bad wrap to that you should revisit. Maybe you were having a bad hair day or they were either way. Take you environment into consideration and other items on a menu. Try a few other things out to get an overall picture of an establishment. After all that is what being a good food critic is all about. Not only that a good food critic will report on the facts like "this burger had little seasoning" and then rate it without being hugely opinionated. After all everyone likes things in a different way. Some people like burgers that are lean or have no salt and are freshly made because they are looking after their health. Did you know that Hogs Breath burgers that you rated so high are pre-made, pre-cooked & frozen. These are facts that should be reported to give people an objectionable view. Anyway I know this is a little long winded maybe I should just start my own burger site and report on a lot of the real facts that you seem to have missed out on and have a real criteria for rating the burgers so people know what has been considered when making these decisions.
Anyway we are all burger lovers at the end of the day so happy eating!!
